The Village Forum
The Village Forum - a daily email discussion forum for people in the Pont Valley.
This is a daily discussion forum specifically for Pont Valley people, including those against opencasting in and around the Pontburn Valley, on which members can post questions, seek information on a whole range of issues, tell us your news or give us your views!
The sort of questions, for example, that one person may not know the answer to but another person reading forum may. But please be sensitive to the fact that “What time is it now?” will reach our 76 registered members. Give thought to the content of your message, follow the simple rules below and be aware that anyone can access Forum Archives later.

How to Use The Forum once you've joined
Once you have joined the village forum you can:
- Send a message to the village forum: send it to forum@pontvalley.net
- Access the message archive: click here
- Choose the format in which you want to receive village-forum messages (this can be either as a series of individual messages each day, or as a single message comprising a digest of all messages sent that day). The default setting is a series of individual messages, you can switch to the digest by accessing the subscriber options page
- Stop messages when you go on holiday
- Leave forum permanently
Guidelines for using the Village Forum and Helping to Build Our Website:
Subject headings: please be succinct in the subject you specify for your message in order that others will be able to find it later in the Village Forum archive. Where possible, use an existing subject heading or better reply to an existing forum message around the same subject.
Earlier messages on the same or similar subjects can be found in the forum archives If you can revive these messages and 'attach' your own information, opinion or comment this will help us to structure and add to what we might know already To do this, simply add your text and re-send the same message This is called a message thread and we will manage the threading of messages to make reading easier.
Forum Administration: is a shared activity which we can all help with by following some simple rules. Please do not ignore our simple rules as this will cause unnecessary work for others.
Attachments: The Village Forum accepts attachments which can be added to our village and campaign document libraries. (But better if you can to do this yourself to ensure these are put in the correct website sections).
Forum Archives: a library of previous threaded e-mails around a subject which we can visit at will to help us structure our emerging Village and Campaign Libraries
Village Library: Draft documents offered by village forum members for other members to download - please see the 'Documents' section of this site.
Please remember that the Village Forum might be predisposed to the NOTT campaign at this time, but is not exclusively for those against open-casting.
Also please remember that the Village Forum is not the same as this website. They work together (as should we) but have separate identities.
